An early evangelist of the importance and impact of high-quality, contextualized product data, Marcel has more than 20 years of expertise in commerce and ad tech, as well as a background in web development. As CIO (and previously Chief Marketing Officer) at Productsup, he helped transform the company from a small agency startup out of Berlin into a multi-million dollar cloud-based, SaaS platform that now has a global presence in more than 30 countries.
He's also a serial entrepreneur. Marcel is Co-Founder and Entrepreneurial Partner of venture capital fund Cavalry Ventures, which specializes in early-stage investments in European tech startups. Additionally, he co-founded video-streaming platform hiClip, which was acquired by Adconion Media Group, as well as NativeAds, which merged with Seeding Alliance and was later acquired by Ströer.
