“The best” is quite an ambiguous term. What’s best for one person may not even be a consideration for another. This is essentially why we all get into debates when we have to decide which graphics card is the best for gaming.

There are multiple factors that come into play, including the type of games and personal preference. Budget, of course, is also a major factor. This, sadly, leads to a lot of confusion. There are multiple options, and instead of just one, many fit our preferences. How do we decide? Which one do we pick? Which graphics card is best for gaming for us? We have the answers as well as examples!

Why is a graphics card important?

If you are new to the world of gaming, we are positive that you are wondering whether you need a graphics card at all. Can’t you play games without it? Well, a few basic games may run on a laptop/computer that doesn’t have a graphics card, but the majority won’t.

A graphics card works to produce images by converting the data into a signal for your monitor. If you have a basic graphics card, the conversion will also be basic. The better your card, the smoother the display. And, we all know just how important graphics are in the world of gaming! This is why a graphics card is important.

Gaming laptops and computers usually come with an integrated graphics card. If you have a regular computer and would like to modify it, you can buy one separately and install it onto the motherboard of your computer. M.2 WiFi Cards are particularly famous in this aspect. They are small, consume low power when compared to others and mainly work to improve the load time of the game.

Considerations while buying a graphics card

We advise that you make a checklist so that your buying process is easy. Here’s what you should definitely consider:

  • Resolution: If the resolution is high, the performance should also be high. So, if you are only playing at 1080 pixels, you may not need an over-the-top graphics card.
  • Video memory: For basic gaming, you will not need more than 4 GB. But, pro gamers usually go for 8 GB.
  • PSU: Different graphics cards have different power supply needs. Make sure you have the requirement before making the purchase.
  • Refresh rate: You have FreeSync and G-Sync to pick from when it comes to the refresh rate. You have to check what your computer supports before choosing one of these.

Which graphics card is best for gaming?

We have shortlisted our favorites to help you in this regard. Please take a look:

ZOTAC RTX 2080 Ti

This one is for those who want superior performance and have no budget restrictions. It is easily the best one out there with sparkling features that can blow anyone’s mind! To start with, you can play 4K and VR games without a problem. But, if you only want to play at 1080 pixels, you don’t need it. It is extremely fast with 4352 GPU cores and a boost clock of 1830 MHz. It has multiple ports, including 3 Display, 1 HDMI, and 1 USB C. The fan it comes with reduces noise with ease and ensures maximized airflow.

Asus AMD Radeon – RX 5700

Asus has always been known to provide value for money, and this one doesn’t disappoint at all. It has 2304 GPU cores and a boost clock of 1625 MHz. Its TDP is 180 watts and comes with 8 GB of RAM. What we absolutely love about the Asus AMD Radeon is that it is affordable and reliable at the same time. You can enjoy 8K resolution at 60 Hz or 5K resolution at 120 Hz. It is also VR ready, making it the perfect match for Occulus Rift and similar products.

INNO3D GeForce GTX Gaming Graphics Card – 1660

If you have budget constraints and need a good graphics card in a humble price range, you should go with the GeForce GTX Gaming Graphics Card. It is very efficient with 1408 GPU cores, a 1785 MHz boost clock and 6 GB of RAM. Of course, 6 isn’t as good as 8, but it is still good enough for intermediate gamers. It promises cinematic experiences and smooth gameplay even when you play VR. We think that’s good enough for anyone!

Asus GeForce GTX  – 1650

It has 896 cores and is powered by NVIDIA Turing. It has multiple ports, allowing you to connect up to 3 monitors with ease. It also has a dual cooling fan that ensures quiet gameplay. While you can play your games at a decent FPS, you should note that it only has  4 GB of RAM. That’s basic and limiting. You will not be able to enjoy high-end games with this particular card.

AMD Radeon RX 5600XT

This is the OC edition with a boost clock of 1640 MHz. In gaming mode, though, you can expect slightly less at 1620 MHz. The graphics card has a few excellent features such as 6 GB of RAM and 2304 GPU cores, but it does not support ray tracing technology. Having said that, you should know that it has the 0dB technology that lets you enjoy light gaming without a sound!

No matter which of these you choose, we are positive you will be proud of your purchase! Just remember to weigh your options against your requirements to choose the one that’s best for you. All the best!
